Day 8: Bryce Canyon & Saint George

Hey y’all! I’ve officially been solo traveling for a week now. Last night was definitely the coldest it’s been. It got down to 20° last night so I layered up, put my beanie on along with my fuzzy socks but I was still chilly. I reached over and grabbed my Frannie blanket and after some time, got to sleep.

I actually woke up hot at some point! So I have Frannie to thank for keeping me safe and warm 🐶.

I woke up around 6:50am and got to see the sun rise. I also didn’t fall on my ass from black ice this morning😄.

I found a highly rated coffee place so I grabbed a latte there and headed down to Bryce Canyon State Park.

On my way down, I saw signs for ‘YOUNG LIVING FAMILY FARM’— you’ve got to be shitting me. Another MLM headquarters in Utah?? I suppose, with the fact that there are hundreds of MLMs , that some of them would end up in Utah🤷‍♀️.

There were numerous signs pointing directions to visit this aMaZiNg farm, so of course I took a detour to see what it was all about.

I posted a video of it on my insta and Facebook stories, but let me tell you…The farm sucked. Like, you know when you drive around in the country and see farms and go, “oh how cute!! I’d love to own a little farm house like that!” But then you think about how many hours it would take to cut that lawn, and how the air would smell like shit most of the time, and how you’d have spotty WiFi and cell service and you know you can’t live without Netflix.

Yeah, this farm was nothing to admire and looked like a ragged compound. Here are some pics.

Maybe all the money went to fighting law suits?

I then stopped into The Creamery for lunch and got an egg and cheddar ciabatta sandwich and they were the fluffiest eggs I’ve ever had. They also had an ice cream parlor that I was tempted by, but passed on.

I drove for about another hour and a half and finally arrived at Bryce Canyon, which is one of the Mighty Five in Utah. It was gorgeous!!! I have lots of pics, but here are a few:

After checking out Bryce, I took a super scenic way to Saint George: Route 14. Highly recommend!! Once I got into Saint George, I had to find a place for dinner. I saw a restaurant on Google that looked good called Cliffside Restaurant. I made my way there and it had me go up this almost private-like driveway where large houses resided on cliffs overlooking Saint George. I definitely thought I’d look underdressed in my hiking gear, so I put on cute sandals and swapped my top to look more cute-casual. Let’s just say it was the nicest I’ve looked this entire trip🤣.

I walked in to see the walls were replaced by big bay windows to over look this city and I immediately though thank God you changed Erika🤣🤣. It was about 5:30pm so I was hoping I could sneak in as an early reservation. They couldn’t take me until 8:30pm, so I decided to just order take out. It was safer that way anyway. So what did I do? I had a nice damn date with myself WITH gorgeous views. I drove behind the restaurant where the employees park, turned on some jazz (or something like that) and had my glazed salmon. Yum!!

The meal was on point and I headed back to good ol’ Cracker Barrel, but something caught my eye…

I FOUND K MART!!!

I pulled into the parking lot to see this amazing gem…and I’ll be damned…look who took it over:

FREAKING. SPIRIT. HALLOWEEN. 🤣🤣

Tomorrow I will either explore Saint George or Zion so please give me any recommendations you might have! Also, if you have questions about solo car camping & traveling, let me know and I’ll answer them in my blog. As always, thanks for coming along the journey with me!
