Woohoo!! Double digits…10 days! I left Saint George today after getting some work done at a cafe and headed to Zion.
On the way, I saw a cute gemstone store and HAD to stop.

Gemstones are soooo gorgeous. We really are lucky to live on a planet that produces such beauty.
Next, I got to Zion. At the campground gate, they asked for my reservation and found my name but it didn’t match where my spot was. This made me a tad nervous because the other day I called confirming my spot all to realize I booked a “walk-to” spot which meant I would have to leave my car and take my camping gear, walk probably a good distance, and set up a tent I did not have 😅. Luckily, when I called a couple days prior, they were able to move me to a place where I could camp in my car. Ergo, here I am sitting at the campsite gate thinking my site change didn’t go through and I’d arrived to Zion with no place to stay, but the park ranger at the gate shrugged her shoulders and said, “have fun!” – And luckily, no one was at my site, so it all worked out! 😁
I immediately decided with the time I had before sun set, I could hike two different trails. I did the River Walk and the Emerald Pool. Here are some pics from the River Walk:

After some selfies with my deer buddy, I hit up the Emerald Pool.

By the time I got to the shuttle station, it was dark. The shuttle dropped me off at the visitor center and I immediately got discombobulated and couldn’t find the direction to my camp site. I immediately thought ‘is THIS how that thirty-something year old woman got lost for 12 days in Zion?!’
Luckily, I waved some women down who helped point me in the right direction 😬. Once I got back to my site, I got cell service, saw this pic of Marlowe come through a text

and then called my hubby while looking up at the stars. It is so beautiful out here. I can see the Milky Way faintly. And I saw a shooting star 💫.
I’m going to hike another trail tomorrow morning then *probably* hit up the Grand Canyon!
